COOP LANCASHIRE CHALLENGE CUP QTR FINAL
Ashton's eagerly awaited quarter final tie against Leigh RMI of the Blue Square Conference North WILL go ahead tonight at Brocstedes Park,7.45pm KO.
After the weekend's wash out the rain has finally abated and dry weather of the last two days has enabled the Ashton pitch to dry out sufficiently. Ashton will be hoping for major upset as they line up against a Club competing 4 leagues higher in the non league pyramid system, although Leigh currently occupy bottom spot in their division.
Leigh may rest a few players with one eye on the FA Trophy tie against Workington Town scheduled for this coming Saturday, but a stern test will still be the order of the day for Ashton in this first ever Derby match between the two local Clubs.
Gates will open at 6.30pm.
