Burscough early blitz ends Ashton Youth Cup Hopes

A 3 goal blitz in the first 20 minutes of this first round FA Youth Cup match ended the Ashton's hopes of progression in this year's competition.

Despite the early set back the fledgling team, which has only been together for 3 weeks, showed great character by first stemming the tide and then fighting back in the second half with a goal of their own to provide some consolation for the evening's work.

The spirited fightback will put the team in good heart for the league season ahead, which restarts this Sunday with the short trip to Leigh Genesis 2pm KO.
