Ashton Athletic 3 Ashton Town 0 Mon 26th Aug

**Match Report:**

In a highly anticipated local derby at Brocstedes Park, Ashton Athletic showcased their dominance with a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Ashton Town. The Yellows delivered a performance brimming with pace, power, and precision, leaving their rivals with little to celebrate.

The match began with Ashton Town looking lively in the opening 15 minutes, but their early enthusiasm quickly faded as Athletic took control. From that point on, it was one-way traffic, with the home side dictating the tempo and creating numerous opportunities. Joe Beswick, between the posts for Ashton Athletic, had a relatively quiet afternoon, rarely troubled by the opposition.

Ashton Athletic's front three—Nathan Beca, Dek Hill, and Josh High—proved too much for the visitors' defence to handle. The trio tormented Town's backline throughout the game, and it was only a matter of time before the deadlock was broken. Nathan Beca, who was in fine form, opened the scoring in the 31st minute, capping off a stellar individual performance. His pace and trickery left the opposing defenders in his wake time and time again.

The highlight of the match—and perhaps the season—came just eight minutes later. Josh High, picked up a pass from right back Conal Larkin and unleashed an audacious shot from inside his own half. The ball soared over the stunned Town goalkeeper and nestled perfectly in the back of the net. The wonder goal sparked scenes of sheer joy among the players and home supporters alike, a moment that will be replayed and remembered for a long time. Check out the link below.

The visitors visibly rattled, managed to keep the scoreline at 2-0 going into halftime. Despite their best efforts after the break, Ashton Town could not find a way back into the match. Athletic, however, continued to press and eventually sealed the victory midway through the second half. Dek Hill, who put in a tireless shift up front, deservedly got his name on the scoresheet, as the ball broke to him, after the Town keeper parried a thunderous shot from Nathan Beca, he had a simple header, to put the result beyond doubt.

It was a complete team performance from Ashton Athletic, with every player contributing to the victory. The defence was resolute, the midfield dictated play, and the attack was simply unplayable at times. The 3-0 scoreline could have been even more flattering, but the home side will be more than satisfied with the three points and victory over their local rivals.
Man of the Match - Dek Hill for Ashton Athletic
